This is a time reserved for us to explore how you’re doing in your life. Whether you’re new to therapy or have had therapy in the past, we start fresh - in the here and now. We then decide where to put our energy and attention. What do you want to resolve? What do you want to change, if anything?
How can two individuals, different in so many ways, learn to live well together? We will identify resources as well as difficulties. We learn how each of you has a hand in creating the status quo. What are you willing to accommodate? What are you willing to do differently? Are there any non negotiable stances? Let’s find out.
Most of us are born into a group - our family of origin! We learned how to survive in our family and how to get basic needs met. Our adaptive styles may not serve us as well today as they did then and may even constrict our lives.
Group therapy is a way of learning how and why others respond to us the way they do, as well as how and why we tend to respond to them the way we do.
Group therapy explores a variety of personal issues as well as the dynamics of the group itself.
